Gather Shot fits receptions, team gatherings and conference breaks where the activity should leave you with a collection of photos. Keep your own prompts and rules, without asking guests to send files through a separate group chat.
A printed checklist can be enough if you only want to play. Choose Gather Shot when collecting and sorting the responses is part of the job.
Need automatic scores, a live leaderboard or GPS missions? Compare a dedicated game platform such as Goosechase or Scavify. Both also offer browser participation.
From organizer setup to the final files

Create your event, then open Photo hunt. Choose Add prompt to write one challenge or Paste a list to add one per line. Edit and reorder up to 50 prompts, with up to 280 characters each. Set the event date and upload window, then use Preview guest page before sharing.
Decide who can see submissions now, not after guests start uploading. Public Gallery and automatic approval are both on by default.

Guests open the event in their browser, choose a prompt and upload a photo or video. They can return to the list as they finish more challenges. No app installation or guest account is required; your settings may ask for details, email verification or consent.
Ask guests to wait for each upload to finish. Their completion progress belongs to their browser identity, so they should keep using the same browser and device.

Open a prompt’s responses to review what guests captured. If you require approval, approve suitable uploads before they appear in the public gallery. Use Download responses to export the hunt’s available photos and videos in ZIP files, grouped into folders by prompt.
The organizer download includes pending and approved responses, but not locked uploads. Review the files before sharing the ZIP; it is not automatically a collection approved for publication.
Prepare prompts with your assistant if you prefer, then review the wording and event settings before saving.
A guest can finish a prompt while their photo still awaits approval. A photo can be suitable for the gallery without meeting your game rules. Keep these checks separate.
Before sharing beyond the event, get permission from the people pictured. An upload or gallery approval is not blanket permission for marketing reuse.
An eight prompt hunt does not use eight uploads if everyone plays. Estimate one photo or video per uploader per prompt, then leave room for ordinary event photos and extra activity.
Worked example, not a usage forecast
36 guests × 8 prompts = 288 uploads
With six team captains each submitting eight responses, that becomes 48 uploads. That changes how you run the game: only the captains’ personal completion is tracked. It leaves just two uploads in a fresh 50 upload trial, so do not treat it as spare capacity for the whole event.

Use the trial with a short list and a second person. Test the settings you actually intend to use, on the venue’s Wi-Fi or mobile connection if possible.
Both the hunt and photo collection run in the browser. Guests choose a prompt before submitting a photo or video, rather than dropping everything into an unlabelled album. Hosts can review responses by prompt and download the hunt files. You can also collect ordinary event photos alongside the hunt, or choose Scavenger-only mode in event settings.
Yes, if you manage the competition yourself. Choose the teams, keep a roster, define what earns points and record scores separately. For a simple team game, nominate one uploader per team and agree how you will identify their submissions. Gather Shot tracks that uploader’s personal completion, not a shared team score. It does not provide an automatic leaderboard, judge answers or choose winners.
Yes, with Public Gallery enabled, guests can see approved, unlocked responses from others. Public Gallery and automatic approval default to on. For judging without guests seeing one another’s answers, turn Public Gallery off before the hunt. Guests can still see their own uploads, including pending ones. An event link can be forwarded, so a hidden gallery is not the same as confidential access control.
Yes. Guests can choose an existing photo or video. If your rules require fresh photos, tell players and judge that rule yourself. Gather Shot is not a GPS checkpoint system and does not automatically verify where or when a challenge was completed.
Uploads need Wi-Fi or mobile data. Save the prompt list and take photos with the phone camera if reception is unreliable, then return and upload while connected. The hunt must be active and the event upload window open. There is no automatic offline upload promise. Pausing the hunt stops new hunt responses; it does not turn existing photos private.
A hunt supports up to 50 prompts, each up to 280 characters. Prompt count is separate from upload capacity: every photo or video response uses the event’s allowance, alongside ordinary gallery uploads. The free trial includes hunts and 50 unlocked uploads; Pro includes hunts and 5,000 uploads. Basic includes 1,000 uploads and requires the optional hunt add-on. Overflow uploads stay locked until enough capacity is purchased.
